Sixty-two-year-old retired teacher Annie Cooper’s impulsive move to quirky Monteagle\, Tennessee\, sets the stage for hilarity when she takes odd jobs to offset her insurance costs\, stumbles across a mystery\, and unabashedly fantasizes about the men who cross her path. \nLike her main character\, Riner retired from a 23-year English teaching career with Rutherford County Schools and moved to Monteagle. Instead of odd jobs\, Riner began writing features for The Sewanee Mountain Messenger and The Grundy County Herald before penning her first novel. \nHer book was recently named a reading selection for the Methodist Sunday School Assembly’s 2025 Summer Program. \nThe second in the series is slated for release in February of 2026\, and Riner is knee-deep into the third.
